It reads, "Shall Section 9 of the McKinney City Charter be amended to provide that mayor and city council members shall have term limits consisting of three (3) consecutive, four (4) year terms beginning with the 2025 election?"
Marcia H. “Proposition A would extend term limits for the mayor & city council members from 2 to 3 consecutive 4-year terms. But the ballot language approved by council members—which voters will see when they go to the polls—simply states: Shall Section 9 of the McKinney City Charter be amended to provide that mayor & city council members shall have term limits consisting of three (3) consecutive, four (4) year terms beginning with 2025 election?”
Matt: “Wording a referendum on term limits in such a way as to explicitly avoid mentioning that it's an increase is a malicious lie.”
Leslie H. “We definitely need to make sure people understand what they are voting for.”
Patsy F. “Vote No.”
Karen J. “Typical but still disgusting.”
Mike K. “Absolutely Voting No.”
Yolanda C. “We need fresh blood in office.”
Ellen H. “I think this is pretty clear...and I also vote no. Fresh perspectives are important.”
Ted A. “Folks, please vote “NO” for propositions 1 & 2!”
Sabreen S. “City council members want to extend their terms and the way the wording is on the ballot it sounds like they’re limiting terms but in actuality they’re adding another.”
Ken S. “I believe it’s Proposition A is to be opposed. Two terms (8 yrs) is more than enough time to exert one’s influence and positively lead the City forward. Not to mention that under the current Charter a Council person can serve two terms and then run for Mayor and serve two more terms for a total of 16 yrs.”
Jordan “I am voting 🗳️ No. We are in a massive recession and the city council has the gall to ask for more money 💰from the taxpayers. No thanks! Prices are up and your asking the single mom for more money and for more time in office to take her money. Hard No! Not at all!! How selfish can you be to treat your neighbors that way.”
Karyn R. "I don't know how I feel about all these propositions. But I would like to hear why they think they need another term and explain why I should say "yes" to give them a paycheck when I can't even eat."

It was shared on social media and will remain live until 1,000 participants have completed all ten questions. The survey is located at: facebook.com/CollinCountyIntegrity.
